1 Day Train the Trainer
Overview
This 1-day programme is designed to equip learners with the knowledge, skills and competence necessary to design and deliver effective training, both on-the-job and in the classroom. Adult learning techniques will be discussed and the characteristics of an effective trainer outlined. The importance of having clear goals and designing the training to meet these goals will be highlighted. Strategies for maximising learning, including the use of clear and concise communication, will be discussed and the delivery of effective feedback techniques will also be emphasised.
Participants on this programme will gain practical experience in delivering presentations/training, receive feedback on their performance and be given a copy of their final presentation.
This programme is suitable for those who are interested in developing their training design and delivery skills and improving their confidence in delivering presentations. The programme is also suitable for managers and supervisors who are responsible for the training and development of their team members.
Course Objectives
At the end of this programme, participants will be able to:
- Identify the key criteria required to ensure successful on-the-job and classroom based training.
- Understand and appreciate the importance of preparation.
- Identify their preferred learning style and be aware of the different learning styles that trainees can have.
- Â Be aware of the relevance of motivation in training.
- Explain critical elements of a trainer’s role and work effectively with individuals and groups.
- Identify and use the key components of the systematic training cycle in planning, designing and evaluating training.
- Deliver training effectively in one-to-one and group situations.
- Apply the demonstration method of training.
- Effectively manage group dynamics in a learning environment.
- Follow up on training effectiveness and deliver feedback on trainee’s performance.
About the Trainer
Mike Roche has over 20 years experience in the manufacturing sector, working both in engineering and as a Learning and Development practitioner in a number of multinational organisations. He has held management positions in engineering and as also been a Training Manager in an FDA regulated medical device organisation.
