Overview

This online course is suitable for those with a busy schedule and is adaptable to the challenges of every lifestyle. Participants can attend the live course at the times outlined below and will have access to the recorded courses for 6 months after completion.

A trainer will be on hand after each module to answer trainee questions and participants will have access to a dedicated trainer email for queries after the course is completed.

If you’re unable to attend the live courses, a recorded copy of the course will be provided to you also along with all relevant course files and documents!

Excel 1: Microsoft Excel Essentials including Formatting & Tips and Tricks

  • Review of Excel Basics concentrating on quick methods of performing commonly used commands/features including an overview of Speed Keys

Basics

  • Customising the ‘Quick Access Toolbar’
  • Navigating / Selecting / Data Entry / Editing
  • Inserting / Deleting / Resizing columns / Hiding and Unhiding columns
  • Cut / Copy / Paste and Drag and Drop
  • Using the Clipboard Task Pane
  • Filling / Flash Fill Basics / Creating a custom list.
  • Formatting – Font / Alignment / Number / Format Painter
  • Orientation / Wrap Text
  • Formatting as a table
  • Preview and Print
  • Conditional Formatting
  • Overview of Shortcut Keys

Excel 2: Working with Formulas and Functions

  • Writing and understanding basic formulas
  • Writing and understanding basic functions

  • Copying Formulas – Relative vs. Absolute cell addressing

Excel 3: Basic Database Functionality and Manipulating Text

Excel 4: Creating and Working with Charts

  • Chart title / Legend / Chart Style / Data Table / Data Labels
  • Switch Row / Column
  • Manually Formatting a chart
  • Change overlap and gap width

Excel 5: Working with Multiple Worksheets and Data Consolidation

  • Inserting new worksheets / Renaming
  • Navigating between sheets – Mouse / Keyboard / Navigation List

  • Using ‘Group Edit’
  • Linking sheets using Formulae
  • Breaking Links

Who Should Attend?

This course is suitable for those who are currently using MS Excel regularly but may not have attended formal training recently or may never have attended the training.

All participants will be given access to a recording of the webinars by way of an email along with relevant files and user reference guides. The webinars will be available to participants for 6 months following the course.

A Cork Chamber Skillnet / E-Bridge Certificate of Attendance will be awarded to each participant on completion of all courses.

Participants should have a basic working knowledge of Excel before attending this course.
